At hudson Houndstooth, sustainability isn't just a buzzword, it's the foundation of everything we do. In an industry full of greenwashing, we take real, measurable actions to reduce waste, source responsibly, and create high-quality products that last. Here's how we're making a genuine impact.

thoughtful fabric sourcing
We go beyond the misleading term "deadstock." While many fabric mills now overproduce fabric under the guise of sustainability, we focus on sourcing genuinely discarded materials that would have otherwise been trashed.
Less than 7% of textiles are truly recycled, and virgin fabric production consumes vast amounts of land, energy and resources. Instead of debating the sustainability of different fiber types, at Hudson Houndstooth, we believe the most sustainable fabric is one that already exists.
That's why we source farbic from:
- Pre-consumer textile waste from the design and production process. These are materials that never made it into finished garments but would otherwise be discarded.
- Fab Scrap and second hand sources, ensuring we are not contributing to the demand for new production
- Recycled Organic Cotton for our rope toys and DIY kits, certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, meaning it has been rigorously tested to be free from harmful substances like pesticides, formaldehyde, and heavy metals and saves up to 600 gallons of water per toy.
